Submitting a book proposal

If you would like to submit a book proposal, please bear in mind that we specialise in illustrated books in the following areas: arts (fine, applied, decorative, performing), archaeology and history, architecture, design, fashion, photography, travel, popular culture and books for children, especially in areas of visual interest. We do not publish works of fiction.

ALL proposals should include:

• An executive summary of your curriculum vitae
• A brief synopsis and rationale for the project
• Table of contents
• A small selection of sample material

• Market information detailing audience and competition

We do accept hardcopies, which can be sent to the following address:

Hardcopy material should be limited to a maximum of twenty pages. All possible care is taken with all submissions, however Thames & Hudson bears no responsibility for the loss or damage of unsolicited manuscripts received. Manuscripts will not be returned, unless a self-addressed envelope is included.
